Hye
Katch Do is
a
self-defense concept derived from practical experiences in
life. It was developed in the late eighties by International Martial
Arts expert Renshi Mihran Aghvinian, whose prime inspirations
were the
legendary Armenian fighters. In fact , the words Hye Katch Do translate
into “The Way of the Armenian Hero”: one who had a rigorous physique, a
disciplined, confident mind and a compassionate and generous spirit
Renshi
Mihran Aghvinian has been a martial artist for over 30
years. His creation, Hye Katch
Do, results from his knowledge of more than 10 different Martial Art
disciplines, his war experiences in Lebanon as well as his work
experience as a bouncer and instructor for security forces and body
guards.
The
foundations of Hye
Katch Do are based on practicality. The techniques used are easy to
learn for anyone - no matter who they are or what kind of shape they
are in. Our goal is to make you a complete fighter - on your feet or on
the ground. Our style incorporates punches, kicks, throws, locks,
chokes, grappling and much more. Emphasis is also given to the practice
of appropriate behavior because EVERY FIGHT THAT YOU AVOID IS A FIGHT
THAT YOU HAVE WON and, YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO COMMIT A MISTAKE: IT MIGHT
BE YOUR LAST.
